MAUNDY THURSDAY 2021 : "This Do In Remembrance Of Me"

By : Bro. Nathan

"........This do in remembrance of me." (Lk. 22:19)

Jesus and His apostles went to an upper room for them to eat the passover meal. Jesus then here, declares kung sino ang magbebetray sa kanya and then institutes the Sacrament, na inutos niya sa mga disciples na na gawin nila ito in remembrance of Him. this is the last supper na makakasama ni Jesus ang kanyang mga apostles bago siya papatayin. (Mt. 26:17-30; Mk. 14:12-25; Lk. 22:7-30; Jn. 13:1-2).

The Passover Meal : Ano Nga Ba Ang

Significance Nito?

During the time of Moses, ininstitute ni Lord ang Passover para matulungan ang mga Israelites na maalala ang pagpapalaya niya sa kanila mula sa bondage ng Egypt at mula sa death. On that occasion, the Lord smote the firstborn of the Egyptians, but He “passed over” the houses of the children of Israel who put the symbol of the blood of a sacrificial lamb on their doorposts (Ex. 12:3–14, 26–32).  At the Last Supper, the Savior instituted the sacrament, a new symbolic “meal” of commemoration. si Jesus, bilang isang Jew din, ay ginamit ang mga symbols ng Passover meal para i-institute ang Sacrament.

The Sacrament

Ang Passover meal consist ng unleavened bread o tinatawag natin na matzah/matzo, yung kinatay na lamb, bitter herbs, at wine. ang lamb ay roasted and it was in remebrance sa dugo ng lambs na ipinahib sa mga doors ng mga Israelites. ang bitter hebs ay nagrerepresent sa pait na dinanas ng mga Israelites as slaves sa egypt. may saltwater din that represents the salty tears that was shed by the Israelites. sa saltwater na ito ay nagsasawsaw sila ng mga gulay representing springtime which is the season when the Passover was celebrated. ang unleavened bread o matzah ay center sa celebration na ito representing the haste na iniwan ng Israel sa Egypt. ito ay ang tinapay na pinagpipiraso ni Jesus, binasbasan, at ipinass sa kanyang mga disciples saying "This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me." (Lk. 22:19; cf. Mt. 26:26; Mk. 14:22). and then kinuha niya din ang cup, in the same manner, blessed and passed it and said "This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you." (Lk. 22:20'; cf. Mt. 26:27-29; Mk. 14:23-25).

Gaya ng pagligtas ni Lord sa mga Israelites mula sa death sa pamamagitan ng dugo ng lamb without blemish, so as we na tanging sa dugo lamang ni Jesucristo na tayo ay maliligtas from death (1 Cor. 15:22). Siya na clean, spotless, innocent sa anumang kasalanan, suffered and died for us (1 Jn. 3:5).

The bread that was broken, blessed, passed, and partaken in the sacrament, reminds us sa kanyang katawan na binugbog, pinaghahagupit hanggang sa mapunit ang kanyang laman, and was nailed to the cross para lang mailigtas tayo mula sa ating mga sins at mula sa death. (1 Cor. 15:22)

Ang cup o tubig/wine, serves as a reminder sa kanyang dugo na naispill in the garden of Gethsemane, that every pore of His body, ay nilabasan ng dugo for He took all of our sins at paghihirap, at ito ay ginawa niya para mapatawad tayo mula sa ting mga kasalanan. as Paul stated, "...and without shedding of blood is no remission." (Heb. 9:22-28; cf. Col. 1:11-14).

(Isa. 53:2; Mt. 1:21; Lk. 1:69; Jn. 3:15-17; Acts 4:12; 16:17; Rom. 5:6-21; 8:34-39;  Heb. 5:8-9; 1 Jn. 3:5)
