ACTS 15:29 : Pinagbawal Ba Ng Jerusalem Council Ang Pagkain Ng Dinuguan?
By Bro. Nathan
“that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell.” (Acts 15:29) NKJV
In some churches sa Philippines, kagaya ng INC, MCGI, SDA, Baptist, and others—ay ipinagbabawal ang pagkain ng dinuguan dahil daw sa sinasabi ito sa Lev. 17:14. ang common na nakukuha nila na response ay na ang Levitical Law (i.e law of Moses) already came to pass. this is true bytheway, pero ang response nila dito ay na maging sa New Testament ay pinagbabawal as said "daw" sa Acts 15:29. However, reading the context will show you kung bakit ba ito pinagbawal at this time.
First, sinabi ito sa isang conference sa Jerusalem by the Jerusalem council. ito ay nagde-deal sa issue ng mga Judaizers—i.e mga Jewish Christians and even non-Jewish— ay gustong iretain ang mga Levitical Law at na Levitical law ay applicable palang daw sa mga Christians. ang often sa kanyang mga letters ay nagrerespond sa kanila si Apostle Paul (Gal. 1:6-9; 2:14-21; 5:1; Col. 2:8 3:11; Phil. 3:3; etc.).
Ang Judaizers causes trouble in the early Church. Naging problema ito sa Syrian Antioch na kung saan ay halo Halo dito Ang mga Jews at mga Gentiles (vv. 1-8; cf 1 Cor. 7:18; Gal. 2:11-14; 5:2; Phil. 3:2). Because of this ay kailangan na gawan ng Jerusalem council ng solution ang issue na ito. So ngayon, the Jerusalem council decided na umiwas ang mga Gentiles sa mga pagkaing naihain sa mga idols at sa pagkain ng dugo (Acts 15:29), Ang decision na ginawa ng Jerusalem council ay hindi dogmatic or doctrinal pero para magkaroon ng kapayapaan sa loob ng Church since may disagreements between Jewish Christians at Gentile Christians. Ang pagkain ng mga pagkaing naihandog sa idols ay against sa Levitical law at ang pagkain ng dugo ay against sa Levitical law (Lev. 17-18) and yung Jewish Christians naman ngayon ay kinekeep ito at ginagawan nila ng issues Ang Gentile Christians dahil dito even though alam natin na Ang Law of Moses have no longer effect and would not justify us anymore— Lk. 16:16; Acts 13:39; Rom. 10:4; Gal. 3:24-35
Then nilinawan ito ni Paul sa kanyang epistle to the Corinthians — ang foods offered to idols ay na pwede itong kainin, dahil ang diyus-diyosan "ay walang kabuluhan sa sanlibutan" (1 Cor. 8:4-6) the same thing is applied sa dinuguan at ibang foods na pinagbawal sa law of Moses. To the pure, all things are pure (Titus 1:15), but para sa mga may mahinang conscience ay madumi Ang mga pagkaing naihandog sa mga idols at ang dinuguan causes them to offend his weaker brother/brethren. Again Paul in his epistle to Corinthians—said na hindi dapat natin i-offend ang brothers and sisters natin nang dahil lang sa pagkain :
“Eat whatever is sold in the meat market, asking no questions for conscience’ sake; for “the earth is the LORD ’s, and all its fullness.” If any of those who do not believe invites you to dinner, and you desire to go, eat whatever is set before you, asking no question for conscience’ sake. But if anyone says to you, “This was offered to idols,” do not eat it for the sake of the one who told you, and for conscience’ sake; for “the earth is the LORD ’s, and all its fullness.” “Conscience,” I say, not your own, but that of the other. For why is my liberty judged by another man’s conscience? But if I partake with thanks, why am I evil spoken of for the food over which I give thanks? Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give no offense, either to the Jews or to the Greeks or to the church of God, just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.” (1 Cor. 10:25-33) NKJV
Gaya nga ng sabi nila, saka lang bawal kumain ng dinuguan kung walang puto.
